‘Zeitgeist – The Art of The New Berlin’ Opens in Brazil
Opening October 21, Zeitgeist – The Art of The New Berlin offers for the first time in Brazil an extensive panorama of the art produced by respected artists from the city’s large creative community.
Taking place in the city of Belo Horizonte, “Zeitgeist” features sound and visual installations by Sven Marquardt and Marcel Dettmann as well as a “Berlin Club” space housing big names such as Answer Code Request, David August, Head High, Massimilliano Pagliara, Modeselektor, Rødhåd and Tale Of Us.
The journey through the panorama takes visitors on an adventure through Berlin’s extensive history, helping to give an understanding of the reinvention of Berlin in the 90’s after the wall fell when the city became a creative mecca, a blank canvas to explore through creation. Paintings, photography, video-art, performances and of course music are used to create a mosaic of experiences that tell this story of art and attempt to capture, if at all possible, the vibe of Berlin’s unique club scene
The exhibition opened with a talk by Sven Marquardt, the famous Berghain bouncer and photographer and will remain open to the public till January 11th (Wednesday to Monday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.).
The full line up of artists consists of:
Praça da Liberdade, 450, Belo Horizonte – MG
