Unleash Loves Berlin and more – This Week In London
“Unleash Loves Berlin: Salon Zur Wilden Renate x Katermukke!!” Unleash have managed to bring two of Berlin’s finest party institutions to London!! The party is taking place in “Islington Metal Works”, spread over 4 rooms this party is sure to feel like a night in Salon Zur Wilden Renate. For those of you that have not had the opportunity to visit Zur Wilden Renate, this venue is a Berlin staple, known for throwing some of the craziest, outlandish joy inducing, parties, that well and truly bring the joyous/intimate house party feel to a raving experience! I’ve been lucky enough to have been to the club on a number of occasions and every time I leave it’s always been an uplifting experience. Dirty Doering label boss at Katermukke and former BAR 25 resident brings his deep melodies, signature sounds, Nico Stojan tech house sounds and another BAR 25 legend are sure to make an electrifying vibrant dancefloor reminiscent of Berlin’s parties. Let’s not forget Peak and Swift these two definitely know how to bring a vibe to a party, responsible for most of the legendary parties that go off in “Salon Zur Wilden Renate” (bookings, Flyer Artwork, Djing) these two will be running riot with their party inducing sound. Really looking forward to that tropical disco beat! Britta Arnold, Red Robin, Mira and Sabastian Voigt complete the line-up of what I think will be the party of the weekend, be ready for a confetti and glitter bonanza!
Saturday night Bar 512 host “Don’t – The Real Techno”. Bar 512 is a recently renovated venue located on Kingsland Road, this intimate venue has been known to hold some of the best parties in London. John Heckle is playing a live set that is going to set the place off, really looking forward to seeing him live, and I have to mention, this is his last UK party before he takes the show to Panorama Bar. Had a chance to listen to a few of his sets this past week, just going off that, I can promise this live show is definitely one not to miss. DMX Krew, known for his releases on Rephlex Record’s is also on the bill, I’ve not had the chance to see him play as yet but Saturday is going to change that! A live set from No Data Available, DJ One Seven, Rob Stow and Jerome Hill Saturday night promises to be a great night for listening to some awesome techno!
For those of you looking for something different Detroit’s Jeff Mill’s playing a night of experimental music with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The night’s show promises to be a “seamlessly combined electronics with orchestral music” if you can get a ticket I would definitely check it out. Unfortunately the tickets for this night have sold out so your best chance might be on resale site.
Early bird Ticket of the week
For those of you who love your techno Jaded’s celebrating their 11th birthday in December and for this one they have gone and brought a heavy weight line up; Bas Mooy, Clouds (live), Raymundo Rodriguez, Chris Stanford, R2 Sprung Records with Doppelate, Diegetics, Ainsley. I will do a write up closer to the time, but this is one that you should all be marking in the calendar!
BAROC as a label have got me really excited about the music they have been putting out of late, would say they are one of the labels to watch out for! On that note this week’s recommendation is; Unfinished Portraits – 004 – BAROC
