Lollapalooza Berlin 2015 – Ones To Watch
This weekend we’re off to the Lollapalooza festival set in the grounds of Tempelhof Airport, a former international airport that’s been re-purposed as a park and events space.
Joining Chile, Brazil and Argentina, Lollapalooza Berlin is the fourth international installment of the original festival that was set in Chicago’s Grant Park. The Berlin edition will take place over the weekend of the 12th and 13th September.
This year the two day event is completely sold out so for you lucky ticket owners here are some of our picks to check out over the weekend.
Manchester based, Everything Everything formed in 2007 and have since release 3 albums covering an eclectic and dynamic style. Their latest of which, Get To Heaven was released in June of this year to a predominantly positive reception. The single “Distant Past” was given Zane Lowe’s prestigious ‘Hottest Record In The World’ title earlier this year. They play the main stage at 14:00 on Saturday.
We first saw Wolf Alice over two years ago at the small Beacons Festival in Yorkshire, England. Since then they’ve come a very long way, now gaining regular airplay on the UK’s biggest radio station, Radio 1. The female fronted group this year released their debut full length My Love Is Cool on Dirty Hit Records that features a new recording one of their most popular tracks from their early days, “Bros”. Touring relentlessly over the next few months, Wolf Alice are going to be one to watch as they open the main stage on Sunday at 13:15.
Brand New. YES. For those of you who don’t know Brand New they are an alternative rock band from Long Island, New York who were simply pivotal to the alternative music scene in the 00s. This year they have increased activity, releasing a new single, Mene in April, teasing new songs and releasing new merchandise. Expect to hear an awesome set from their solid discography, they play the main stage on Sunday at 14:00.
