Oscillate @ ://about blank – This Week In Berlin
This Saturday eve the guys at ://about blank are hosting an exceptionally appetizing party with freshly squeezed house and techno for our ears to indulge in. Oscillate is all about the music with a large focus on these two genres served with supreme love and dedication presented by their favourite artists. Dating back to the first party last November this series is fairly new to the game and has been evolving ever since.
First on the bill for this rather diverse lineup is Swedish born Abdulla Rashim. Since the very beginning, this guy has been known for heavily textured techno that occasionally delved into the unknown world of ambience. As the years have passed his sound has matured rapidly and with maturity comes a new level of direction, this being a highly emotive, dark and hypnotic one. Initially releasing material primarily on his own imprint, Rashim went on to launch his Northern Electronics label back in 2013 to embrace these dark ambient ideas of his and others alike. May 2014 saw the release of his debut album, Unanimity, something truly special.
Next up we have the pleasure of seeing Mr Alan Abrahams aka Portable aka Bodycode, live. Originally hailing from South Africa this guy has been on a journey for most of his life. Relocating first to London, setting up camp in Lisbon for some time, and finally settling in Berlin. It was in London were Abrahams started producing under the name Portable, described as his highly experimental atmospheric venture. It was also during this time that he founded his Süd Electronic label with his partner, Lerato. The move to Lisbon saw the evolution of Abraham’s alter ego, Bodycode, a more pumping dance floor project complimenting Portable’s richer textures with a more body-moving objective. Expect a tasty combo of multi layered house with Africa as the top of the to do list.
Joining these two is another big name in the game, Atanasios Christos Macias aka Ata, a highly regarded DJ and founder of the famous Robert Johnson club, based in Frankfurt. Known for his illustrious slow burning sets, you can have solid trust that this guy will deliver nothing but good sounds and good vibes.
German born Klex will be joining these guys also, you may know him from his association with the super cool radio station beatraush.fm and his super rad taste in house music. Finishing off this supreme line-up is local residents Kate Miller, Parasol, Reznik and a new artist called Savart.
