London Cru Winery – London’s First Winery Now Open
Next time you’re shopping for wine in London forget your preconceptions of where it should be coming from, London Cru is the capitals first winery and they’re open for business.
London Cru boasts super modern state of the art equipment that is overseen by winemaker Gavin. Hand harvested grapes are brought in fresh straight to the winery and carefully processed before being put into tank and barrel. Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Barbera are the first wines to come out from London Cru and are available for purchase through their website and Roberson Wine on Kensington High Street as well as from a host of quality restaurants and bars across the city.
From the London Cru blog the guys behind it explain why they opened the winery, “We felt that with so many talented people creating world-class craft beers and spirits in London, it was time to do the same with wine, sharing the experience of making it with people who want a hands-on, informative and entertaining experience. London Cru will be the embodiment of the “Made in London” spirit, and we think it’s going to fit perfectly into London’s thriving wine scene.”
Wines are on sale for £15 a bottle or alternatively through a London Cru sampler case which gives you one of each of the wines for £60. There’s a £7.50 delivery charge but if you spend over £100 you get that for free.
