Holborn Grind Set To Open This Month
Back in May we treated you to a list of our favourite coffee shops in London, one of those places happened to be Shoreditch Grind described by us as “a mirage at the top of mountainous climb out of Old Street tube station.” We are pleased to announce that the guys behind Shoreditch Grind are opening yet another coffee sanctuary in the capital.
Holborn Grind is set to open this month and become the 4th Grind alongside Shoreditch, Soho and Piccadilly. With 15ft floor to ceiling windows, bare bricks and iron sitting comfortably with marble and reclaimed oak, the identity of the other spots is evident in this 4th incarnation. Across a long wall hangs an intricate system of light fittings-cum-shelving, designed bespoke for the setting and painstakingly assembled from antique brass, a creation inspired by the polished cocktail-carts of the 50’s.
As much care has been taken with the coffee selection as with the interior aesthetics. The Grind House Espresso won a blind tasting session nine to one and will be served alongside a bespoke single-origin coffee selected especially for Holborn. Alongside coffee there will be an all-day food menu featuring a selection of pastries, fresh fruit, eggs on toast for the mornings, salads and the Grind’s signature, piadinas at lunch time. An evening menu will consist of sharing plates of cold italian meats and cheeses and like its Shoreditch and Soho siblings, Holborn will be open well into the evening.
Holborn Grind is set to open towards the end September at 199-206 High Holborn, WC1V 7BD.
Mon-Fri: 7am – Late. Sat-Sun: 9am-Late
