Website Update

The Week In Review – 28th November

This week marked a small milestone in Shlur’s small, fun life. Shlur 2.0 rolled out at the start of the week. A subtle site wide re-design to bring us up to scratch with the current lovely design trends. We are now fully responsive, mobile and tablet friendly with loads of cool subtle features and design changes. Isn’t that slider at the top so cool now and what about the fill size featured video? Mmmmm.

Due to the redesign we haven’t put a whole load of content out this week but we did manage to find the time to publish an interesting look into the topic of SIZE between the US and the UK. American expat Shannon has been living in the UK for 11 years and her piece draws upon the dramatic differences in size she has found whilst living here. Everything from cars to fridges.

So what has this past week involved for your Shlur founder, Adam? PHOTO TIME:

I managed to make fire from nothing but wood, newspaper and matches.

I drank yet more Dale's Pale Ale from Oskar Blues Brewery but this time in the absolutely fantastic, The Grove in Huddersfield. One of the best pub for beer choice that I have ever seen.

Finally I checked out the newly opened Roast and Conch in Leeds. Hotel Chocolat’s Roast and Conch is a bar come coffee/confectionery shop come restaurant come chocolate shop. Everything is cacao or chocolate themed with beans roasted on site all day and crafted into various drinks and treats. I had a cacao americano. It was alright, but obviously without the actual coffee didn’t full satisfy. I probably should have gone for a hot chocolate, I bet they do them good. The croissant was pretty good. I believe the food in the restaurant more foody food and less chocolate but still slightly themed that way. It’s a cool spot, worth checking out.

As always, loads more is in the works and if you would like to advertise with us in the new year, contact@shlur.com.
