The Week In Review – October 11th

Bedroom review. Yeah! I’m sat in my room listening to ‘Don’t Call Me White,’ I’ve got the Bahama Breeze Yankee Candle burning, a huge poster of Grand Central Station sits right in front of me and to my right? A picture of Lee wearing a Homer Simpson mask, goggles and a turkey hat.

This week I’ll be doing the week in review in picture format. It’s easier that way and technically I shouldn’t have to write as much.

The Week Started with Sam’s review of Belgrave Music Hall. I consider this place to be park of a cultural boom that Leeds is having this fall. I can’t welcome it enough, it’s as cool a place as you can get. Chipboard shares must be soaring. Although I don’t think you can actually get them.

Agnes Obel

Dominic wrote a beautifully poetic piece about this beautiful lady, Agnes Obel.

Dales Pale Ale

On Monday night I went to see one of my favourite bands of this year, Splashh at the brilliant Brudenell. Splashh were fucking awesome and after only catching 3 of their songs at Beacons I was treated to an hour of big, surfy, catchy bass driven, future loud songs. The beer selection at Brudenell as always is going from strength to strength which is made even better by the fact that they somehow seem to undercut everyone else on beer prices massively.

Brooklyn Bar

Underground quirky portaloo toilets. Notice the chipboard.

I ran out of coffee from The Barn this week which sucked but I have however been made aware of a new coffee roaster in Leeds which we will hopefully have more words on soon.

That’s about all the interesting things that have happened to me and Shlur this week in picture form. As for the next week we will be having more from No/Gloss Film Festival, lots of music coverage including Octernal and some more from our favourite country, Germany.
